Och som mina kompisar sade till mig här om dagen när allt kändes lite extra jobbigt: "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened". Jag tror jag kör på det.
Made a movie about when we went to the Rotary conference, here it is!
In general things feel very strange right now. Have been to a camp for five days with some of my favorite people in the world and it was so great. I have less than a month left in New Zealand and this week when Selina realized her and I will only be able to meet a couple times before I leave, I got a little breakdown and started crying. The thought of going home again is so strange, and to be honest I don't want to go back to a city I already know, start school and actually have to study, stay at home and not do anything, or at least not as much as I do here. When you are in the most beautiful country in the world with the most amazing people, it's easy to think about Sweden in a negative way. And I don't want to go home. But well, I have to so I guess you just have to make the best of the situation.
I'll be able to bike wherever I want to, I'll meet my family again, friends, new people, I'm gonna study Social Sciences and change to a new school where I don't know anyone, we're gonna renovate our apartment, I'll get a new room, I'll be able to walk around singing as loud and ugly as I want to at home, the public transport works well, I'll get another summer, I'm gonna try to do things for the youth exchange in Sweden because I want to thank Rotary for this amazing year, I'll get lunch in school again, I won't have to feel guilty about sitting in my room and not socializing with the host family.
And I think that what I'm most scared of is sinking back into my old life and my old routines, as if this year never happened. But it doesn't have to be like that. No matter how hard it might or might not be to go home, I know it will have been worth it. And as my friends said the other day when things felt not-so-great: "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened". I think I'll try that.
